Hey Ruby started with a shredded couch cushion and a black and white staffy sitting in the middle of the stuffing, tail going, looking very pleased with herself.

Ruby wasn’t being naughty. She was bored. She’d had her walk, she’d had her dinner, and she still had energy to burn and nothing to spend it on. So she found a job. Our couch.

If you’ve come home to a chewed skirting board, a shoe that’s no longer part of a pair, or that look on their face when you pick up your keys, you know exactly what we mean. Your dog isn’t bad. They just need something to do.

We tried the toys on the shelf. Most were done in an afternoon. The ones that lasted were the ones that gave her a job: something to work at, lick at and think about. So we made one that does two jobs.

Made for the way dogs actually live

A frozen pop on top for long, calm licking. A kibble roll underneath for nosing and chasing. A screw top that comes off in three turns, and a weighted base that wobbles back upright. Fill it, freeze it, hand it over, then rinse and do it all again tomorrow. It works on a 38 degree arvo, on a rainy Sunday, and in the ten minutes before you head out the door.

Who we are

We’re Jordan and Gabby. Ruby is the dog this whole thing is named after (and the reason we own a new couch). Nala is our grey and white staffy, the gentle one, and the toughest product tester we know.

Every Ruby is a toy we’d hand to our own two. We’re a small Australian brand building things for dogs with busy minds, and the people who love them anyway.
